Medical transportation for veterans on Long Island
Veterans enrolled in VA Community Care can use DachiPlus for transportation to approved community providers — typically authorized alongside the community care referral. CHAMPVA beneficiaries and veterans paying privately can book directly at (516) 754-7777. Medicaid-eligible veterans can also book free rides through MAS at 1-844-666-6270.
VA Community Care
How does VA Community Care cover transportation?
When the VA authorizes community care — meaning you'll receive treatment from a non-VA provider — transportation is typically part of the authorization. The VA Beneficiary Travel program may cover mileage reimbursement for veterans with service-connected disabilities rated 30% or higher, or for those meeting income-based criteria.
For veterans who qualify, DachiPlus can provide transport to VA-authorized community providers and submit documentation for reimbursement claims. Call us and we'll help you understand what your specific authorization covers.
The Northport VA Medical Center and the Manhattan VA are the primary VA facilities serving Long Island veterans. DachiPlus transports to both, and to all community care providers across Nassau and Suffolk.

Veterans who also have Medicaid can book free rides through MAS. This is often the simplest path for ongoing community care visits.
